St. Multose, Cork School of Music, and Blarney Castle.

I am so far behind with this I need to catch people up. So after Killarney and Ring of Kerry we went back to the hotel had dinner and then we departed for our first concert. St Multose was our first “venue”, even though it was built in 1190 this place still has amazing acoustics and was absolutely beautiful! We had a short rehearsal, suited up and gave our first concert.

The next day we went to Cork School of Music for a masterclass with DR. Spratt. With his insight and passion he helped us to develop our most difficult piece in our set. It was such a pleasure to work with him, I believe that mostly everyones view on the piece changed after the masterclass. After the masterclass we gave a short performance for those who attended and headed out to see Blarney Castle!

Blarney Castle was absolutely amazing, we had perfect weather. The sun was shining, there were blue skies, and it was the perfect temperature. The The Blarney Stone is the main attraction of the site. After climbing a daunting staircase that leads you all the way to the very top of the castle, you then have to lay on your back, hold on to two post, and having assistance from the worker you can kiss the Blarney Stone. It’s a lot of work for one second to kiss the stone but its well worth it, once you are done you can look out and see for miles at the very top, it was gorgeous!

Later on we headed for our second destination, Limerick! Once we arrived we checked into our hotel, had dinner and left for St. Mary’s Church where we rehearsed for a joint concert with a local group called Ancór. Overall it was a good day!
