The IPSL Global Institute at NUNM is the founder of service-learning and has been offering service-based undergraduate and graduate programs abroad since 1981. IPSL designs and delivers accredited international programs that blend academic study, ethical volunteer service and engaged research opportunities. All of our instructors are highly credentialed scholars and/or scholar-practitioners who are current in their fields. Through our programs, students build intercultural competency and global professional networks that position them to launch meaningful careers post-graduation.

Meet with Arianne Newton – Director of Programs, IPSL Global Institute at NUNM.
“I have always traveled and never been satisfied to “just have a job”. Graduating from the University of San Francisco with a Fine Arts Degree, I followed my passions first as an artist and designer, then as small business owner helping people create personal outdoor spaces. I had a tug of war between beauty and business and business prevailed when I became the co-founder, Board chair and Community Development Director of Trillium Charter school, a K-12 community school focusing on global opportunities and service to others.
Thirteen years later, IPSL Global Institute fell into my lap over a cocktail in 2009 and I found my home. Serving as the Marketing and Development Director and then transitioning into Director of Programs, I now spend happy days working with our partners all across the globe to create authentic community based global study and service experiences for anyone curious about the world.”
