Graduate school at Iowa State University

Iowa State University is one of the nation’s leading land-grant universities. We have a rich educational history in journalism, technology, science and risk communication, and mass communication. The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication was one of the first journalism and mass communication programs in the country and also among the first to be accredited. Our alumni hold positions at a wide range of places such as the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, Principal Financial, and Wells Fargo.

Our goal in the graduate program is to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to be successful in the modern media world. Our program offers both an academic and professional track based on a flexible curriculum that allows students to choose courses to help them meet their individual career goals. We have a group of dedicated faculty who excel in teaching and research. We also feature state‐of‐the‐art technology and a friendly environment that welcomes diversity and intercultural experiences.
