What we share in common is an intense desire to constantly\u00a0<em>hone and improve our craft<\/em>, and to imbue everything we create with a distinct sense of\u00a0<em>style and stewardship<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>We value\u00a0<em>creativity for its own sake<\/em>, but if a creation betters the world around it, all the better.<\/p>\n<p>Some people will argue that craftship is a dying art. Most people are knowledge workers, few people work with their hands, and\u00a0<em>style isn\u2019t as important as scale<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Others argue that the internet has led to the commodification of skills and trades, and that a\u00a0<em>distinct sense of craftship<\/em>\u00a0is precisely what makes work stand out as unique in this age of digital noise.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d like to hear from\u00a0YOU, and are prepared to offer a\u00a0<em>$500 scholarship<\/em>\u00a0(<em>submitted by September 19, 2018<\/em>) to the student (in high school or college) who best answers this question:<\/p>\n<p>Craftship is as essential as ever in 2018. Do you\u00a0<em>agree or disagree<\/em>\u00a0with this statement?<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll announce the winner by the end of September, 2018,\u00a0and will send them\u00a0<em>$500 USD<\/em>\u00a0via PayPal along with a heartfelt note of congratulation.<\/p>\n<p>Please read the instructions below carefully and apply using the form at the bottom of this page:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essay must be between 1000 and 1500 words<\/li>\n<li>Your essay must be submitted by 11:59 PM on September 19th, 2018 to qualify<\/li>\n<li>Every essay will be checked using software for plagarism.
