{"id":2402,"date":"2017-12-05T18:42:51","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T18:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/engage.augsburg.edu\/outsidescholarships\/?p=2402"},"modified":"2017-12-05T18:42:51","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T18:42:51","slug":"minnesota-masonic-charities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/engage.augsburg.edu\/outsidescholarships\/2017\/12\/05\/minnesota-masonic-charities\/","title":{"rendered":"Minnesota Masonic Charities"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Minnesota Masonic Charities (MMC) owns and operates\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mnmasonichomes.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Masonic Home (MMH)<\/a>\u00a0in Bloomington, MN.<\/li>\n<li>Since 2006, MMC has given away over $42 million in funds for charitable causes and subsidies.<\/li>\n<li>MMC was\u00a0named the 2014 \u201cOutstanding Philanthropic Organization\u201d by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.<\/li>\n<li>In partnership with Masonic Lodges and Chapters, we provide an annual average of $600,000 in matching and mission grants to Minnesota community organizations.<\/li>\n<li>We have provided $5 million in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mnmasoniccharities.org\/what-we-do\/scholarships\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">scholarship funds<\/a>\u00a0since 2007.<\/li>\n<li>MMC is the largest contributor to the University of Minnesota, having pledged $125 million toward cancer research and children\u2019s health.<\/li>\n<li>Minnesota Masonic Home has been named a U.S. \u201cTop Nursing Home\u201d by U.S. News &amp; World Report\u00a0and has received two Baldrige \u201cCommitment to Quality\u201d bronze awards, one \u201cAchievement in Quality\u201d silver award, and is a five-star rated facility according to Medicare.gov.<\/li>\n<li>MMH offers the largest and one of the most respected transitional care units in Minnesota<\/li>\n<li>The new\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.masonicheritagecenter.org\/\">Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center<\/a>\u00a0is 50,000 square feet, offering a Masonic Museum &amp; Library, auditorium and meeting\/dining spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Scholarship Award Categories<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Signature Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\nAward: $5,000\/year for up to four years or $20,000<br \/>\nFive (5) Signature Scholarships are provided each year to Minnesota high school students with a GPA of 3.9 or higher and an ACT score of 29 or more (or SAT score of 1350 or more). Applicants must plan to enroll in a four-year college program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Legacy Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\nAward: $4,000\/year for up to four years or $16,000<br \/>\nTen (10) Legacy Scholarships are provided each year to Minnesota high school students with a GPA of 3.6 to 3.89 and an ACT score of 25 or more (or SAT score of 1200 or more). Applicants must plan to enroll in a four-year college program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heritage Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\nAward: $2,500\/year for up to four years or $10,000<br \/>\nTwenty (20) Heritage Scholarships are provided each year to Minnesota high school students with a GPA of 3.0-3.59 and an ACT score of 22 or more (or SAT score of 1100 or more). Applicants must plan to enroll in a four-year college program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Undergraduate Scholarships<\/strong><br \/>\nAward: $2,000\/year for up to three years or $6,000<br \/>\nTwenty (20) Undergraduate Scholarships are provided each year to current college freshman, sophomores or juniors who graduated from a Minnesota high school and have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
