Trump, Augsburg College has been monitoring actions of the Trump Administration and communicating with students, faculty, and staff. Actions taken by Augsburg during the week of Nov. 16 included:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>President\u00a0<strong>Paul C. Pribbenow<\/strong>\u00a0sent an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/file\/d\/0BzwbBqhVKX-hR1JhQXJxRkUzUVU\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/drive.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/file\/d\/0BzwbBqhVKX-hR1JhQXJxRkUzUVU\/view?usp%3Dsharing&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1485975649918000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEyEZOFCkd44RBKeD2THw7qVCBPHw\">email the day after the election<\/a>\u00a0calling on all Auggies to be gentle and generous with each other even as we challenge each other to live up to our highest aspirations of educating students (and each other) to be \u201cinformed citizens, thoughtful stewards, critical thinkers, and responsible leaders.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In Chapel on November 21, Associate Professor and Chair of the History Department\u00a0<strong>Michael Lansing<\/strong>\u00a0shared reflections about the election in his address, \u201cFaith and Politics, Post-Election.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A student-led discussion was held on November 21 in the Student Lounge that same evening, facilitated by Augsburg Day Student Government President\u00a0<strong>Abe Johnson \u201918<\/strong>\u00a0and Vice President\u00a0<strong>Mariam Fawzy \u201918<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The week of November 28, Provost\u00a0<strong>Karen Kaivola<\/strong>\u00a0sent a message about teaching in difficult times and that offered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/document\/d\/1VzF4Xi1PJ109YOrWfYQlMOpLhuZVUHHie9IpZrA-qyc\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/document\/d\/1VzF4Xi1PJ109YOrWfYQlMOpLhuZVUHHie9IpZrA-qyc\/edit?usp%3Dsharing&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1485975649919000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE-wT-bIBlsqgYFxNzFJcoIFrLdJA\">support for faculty and students<\/a>\u00a0through the final weeks of this winter semester.<\/li>\n<li><strong>President Pribbenow\u00a0<\/strong>sent a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/document\/d\/1wMRGj7J6ioQ54_Yky6nHNgRm4yn3HOKOcQKxFmZfNVE\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/augsburg.edu\/document\/d\/1wMRGj7J6ioQ54_Yky6nHNgRm4yn3HOKOcQKxFmZfNVE\/edit?usp%3Dsharing&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1485975649919000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGBkwjIZ7g84VkRHv6Y2JCNWI8t6g\">letter to our DACA and undocumented students<\/a>\u00a0underscoring our\u00a0commitment to making an Augsburg education available to learners of all backgrounds, without regard to national or ethnic origin.<\/li>\n<li>Augsburg College signed a public statement in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/news\/2016\/11\/21\/college-presidents-call-continuation-obama-administration-program-protecting\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/news\/2016\/11\/21\/college-presidents-call-continuation-obama-administration-program-protecting&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1485975649919000&amp;usg=AFQjCNE2qYfGOWvGBWnMocUlmXfrrrYodQ\">support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and our undocumented students<\/a>, endorsed by more than 90 colleges and universities across the nation.
